Community Arts Project: Update #4

Posted: Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Hello everyone!  As all of you might know, my project is coming to an end soon. From July 14th to August 5th, I have a total of 50 participants from the Concordia’s Hmong Language Arts Program and the Mt. Airy Boys and Girls Club. I am very glad that I have a lot of repeated kids from the Mt. Airy Boys and Girls Club who are very interested in making origami: especially Alicia who made a total of 15 dogs and cats origami for her mom. Thank you everyone for being patient with me when I taught the big groups.

Our progress so far:

 Upcoming workshops:

  • August 7 – MORE, at 9, location: 96 East Wheelock Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55117
  • August 10  – MORE, at 10, 96 East Wheelock Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55117

Thank you for everyone’s donations. Your contribution means so much for me. As of right now, I have all of the clothing that I needed.  I will be working on my prom dress and soon all of you will see it. I am very excited to see the results of my project.

Heads up, since the CHAT’s arts and festival is cancelled, my project will be showing at the CHAT’s Fresh Tradition Fashion Show on September 29 at 7:30 to 11pm at the Minneapolis Public Library Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hope to see you all there!
