After completing the workshop, Artists have the opportunity to propose projects for funds up to $1000.

Irrigate is an artist-led creative placemaking* initiative spanning the six miles of the Central Corridor Light Rail line in Saint Paul during the years of its construction. This is a unique opportunity that brings together huge infrastructure development, a high concentration of resident artists on both ends of the corridor, a diverse ethnic and cultural mix among the neighborhoods, and a city with a strong track record of artist community engagement. This artist-led community and economic development approach emphasizes cross-sector collaboration with local private and non-profit sectors. By mobilizing artists to engage in their community, Irrigate will change the landscape of the Central Corridor with color, art, surprise, creativity and fun.

Irrigate will:

mobilize and train artists who live, work and have a personal investment in the area to make positive physical, economic and social impacts along the corridor.
Develop and invest in permanent local resources and infrastructure to retain and attract artists – of all disciplines and experience – to have a long-term stake and role in communities along the corridor.
Irrigate is a partnership between the City of Saint Paul, Twin Cities Local Initiatives Support Corporation and Springboard for the Arts.

Backstage Coordinator: Keep everything in line back stage for a smoother front stage

• Determine, coordinate and manage backstage access details

Marketing and Communications

• Check FT3 email account once a day
• Create email auto-response
• Sort emails and forward to appropriate committee contact
• Design and manage all social networking accounts (myspace, facebook, etc.)
• Collect contact information and manage email database

Volunteers will be notified by February 10, 2012.  Selected volunteers are required to attend a mandatory orientation at the CHAT Studio 995 University Ave, suite 220 Saint Paul, MN 55104.

The history of Hmong art is rooted and sewn into the fabrics of traditional Hmong clothing where the unique combination of vibrant colors and textures makes the Hmong identifiable. Fresh Traditions is a culturally inspired fashion event that exhibits the creativity, originality and quality of work by Hmong fashion designers.

Would you like to inspire youth in our community?

Center for Hmong Arts and Talent (CHAT) is calling on Artists for Art Class Proposals that will be offered to youth during the Art Saves Us (ASU) Fall Session.

 
ASU offers free art classes to youth ages 7-20 years old in an array of disciplines.

(Past classes have included painting, ceramics, spoken word, breakdance, and more.)

ASU Fall Session classes are 2 hours long, once a week and runs September 12 through April 27,with a final project showcased to the community on April 28, 2012.

This call for proposals opens opportunities for emerging Artists to earn income for theirwork as well as expand ASU by increasing the variety of art classes offered.

We are seeking proposals for art classes that will challenge, develop and involve creativity,self-expression and build confidence in youth.

Individuals with an interest in the arts, teaching youth, and understand the enrichingbenefits of arts activities are encouraged to apply!

A stipend will be provided.
