DabNeeg Dawning Theatre

Old stories in a new light. DabNeeg, the Hmong word for “story,” “myth,” or “tale” and dawning, the English word for “the first light at daybreak” are pronounced the same in the two languages. Using both the Hmong and English languages is an appropriate reflection of theatre by and for Hmong Americans. DabNeeg Dawning theatre is a comprehensive program designed to develop artists in all areas of theatre, provide a platform for Hmong American experiences on the stage and deepen connections with Hmong American audiences who see our own stories being told.
